A Walking at Work Program encouraging employees to take time for physical activity during the work day.
WCA WALKING AT WORK PROGRAM - 2011
How does the WCA Walking at Work Program work? WCA Walking at Work Program is a WCA approved activity that is designed to encourage WCA employees to take Wellness walks during their daily twenty minute break period which is paid time. It also encourages those to enjoy walking during their 30-60 minute meal period. Walking is permitted either inside or outside of the buildings per designated walking route maps. (WCA and JMHC)
Should I register with Wellness for the Walking at Work Program? Yes. There is a one time registration for employees who want to walk outside during their paid break time. Employees will receive walking routes for both inside and outside of both buildings that have been designated as safe by WCA Safety Committee. To register, just return the attached sheet below to Wellness.
Do I have to clock out and in when I go outside to walk for my twenty minute paid time break? No. However, during this time, employees must walk designated walking routes established on the WCA Walking Maps.
How about walking outside during my 30 or 60 minute meal time? Yes. You are required to clock out and back in on your return as this is unpaid time. However, you are not required to walk on the designated routes established on the Walking Maps.
