Congratulations Laurel Paine
September 2009 Employee of the Month
When discussing the criteria for the Employee of the Month award one day, the WCA Medical Technology School class said they would like to nominate a laboratory employee who exemplifies the qualities of an employee of the month. Many names were suggested, but one name in particular stood out . . . Laurel Paine, Medical Laboratory Technician, our September Employee of the Month.
“She is a great example of how a laboratory tech should approach lab work,” said Janet McMillin-Jaszcz, Clinical Coordinator of the School of Medical Technology. “Her combination of knowledge of laboratory procedures and compassion for the patient are part of every test she reports to the physician.” Janet goes on to say, “Laurel is kind and considerate of her co-workers and our students. If a technologist or student needs assistance, she is more than willing to assist. The students enjoy working with her because she gives them room to develop and grow as a technologist, while quietly overseeing the students' studies to be sure the patient remains the focus of care.”
A Laboratory Technician at WCA since April of 1978, Laurel has been behind the scenes ensuring that patients are diagnosed accurately. One coworker said it best, “Laurel is truly committed to quality and the community we serve.” Congratulations, Laurel on an honor well-deserved.
