163 VOLUNTEERS HONORED AT WCA HOSPITAL
Jamestown –One hundred and sixty three volunteers were recently
honored for their hours of service and the vital role they play
in patient care at the annual WCA Hospital Volunteer Luncheon. Charlie
Johnson, long-time volunteer at WCA, received the 5 Star Volunteer
Award for his extraordinary dedication and untiring service to the
hospital.
The Luncheon included remarks from Betsy T. Wright, WCA Hospital
President and CEO, Barbara Bumsted, Chair, WCA Board of Directors
and Suzanne Sawyer, WCA Hospital Volunteer Coordinator. Sara Khan,
W.C.A. Auxiliary President, presented pins to volunteers in acknowledgement
of their hours of service in 2005.
"I am very proud to stand before you today and recognize each
of you for the hours of service you extend to our patients and communities
we serve," said Betsy T. Wright, WCA Hospital President and
CEO. "WCA is privileged to have over 500 volunteers who generously
donate their time to our organization. You are everywhere in this
organization. You are always willing to share a smile, lend an ear,
hold a hand or provide company and comfort to a patient or family
member. You are truly ambassadors for WCA and an asset to this community."
"On behalf of the Board of Directors, I would like to thank
all of our wonderful volunteers for the compassionate care and excellent
staff support you give in both patient and non-patient services,"
remarked Barbara Bumsted, WCA Hospital Chair, Board of Directors.
"There is no way WCA could achieve the success as an organization
that we are experiencing without you. Your dedication and compassion
are evident in everything you do and we thank you."
George Campbell, Bruce Easterling and William Warner were recognized
for the most hours served in 2005. Stephanie Ernst, Joshua Moran
and Katie Farren were recognized for the most student hours served.
Hour guard pins were presented to the following volunteers: 100
hours: Eric Eckberg, Gail Hayes, Ronald Littlejohn, Ada Ramsey,
Justine Sandberg, Marianne Yaich. 200 hours: Gordon Bloomberg, Jack
Crate, Winnie Cullen, Charlene Nash, Linda Rublee. 300 hours: Delores
Chimera, Joseph Chimera, Beverly Haskell, Robert Speer. 400 hours:
Sandra Carlson, Joan Erickson, Clarice Gates, Riley Olmstead. 500
hours: Margaret Berenguer, Martha Everhart, Linda Johnson, Betty
Kohlbacher, Judy Littlejohn, Carl Raineir. 600 hours: Margaret Anderson,
Virginia Crist, Margaret Fuchs, Ann Legters, Robert Matson, Phyllis
Newman, Phyllis Sorenson, Carolyn Thomas. 700 hours: Shirley Caffoe,
Betty Carlson, Phyllis Jenkins, Ingrid Kilburn, Janet Klenck, Glenda
Lyon, Gloria Raymond. 800 hours: Bradley
Jimerson, Eve Pickett, Bill Rollinger. 900 hours: Betty Barber,

Warner. Student volunteer recipients were: Katie Austin, Stephanie
Ernst, Katie Farren, Elijah Kellom, Joshua Moran, Ian Morgan, Corey
Warner.
Suzanne Sawyer reported 528 volunteers gave over 57,000 hours of
service over the past year.
