Jamestown— The WCA
Hospital Auxiliary presented a check in the amount of $30,100 to
Betsy T. Wright, WCA Hospital President and CEO, at their Annual
Luncheon completing their final installment of a $121,000 pledge.
The Auxiliary Board also announced a donation from the W.C.A. Foundation
in the amount of $35,000 from the Will and Trust of E. Louise Hoag.
The funds were used toward the completion of the new state-of-the-art
WCA Hospital Sleep Center.
Betsy Wright thanked the group for the many hours of service they
provide at WCA. "You are a positive and wonderful voice in
our community and your unending support helps us continue to enhance
our patient's experience," stated Betsy Wright. "You truly
exemplify our vision to be the first choice for our patients, physicians,
employees and volunteers. Your success represents a great example
of what can be accomplished when community members come together
for a shared purpose. The generosity of the Auxiliary is boundless
and we are sincerely appreciative."
The Auxiliary announced they completed the 5-year pledge in just
two years, which represents more than 15,000 hours of volunteer
service. “I would like to thank everyone for helping us reach
our goals,” said Sarah Khan, W.C.A. Auxiliary President. “Our
success this past year would not have been made possible without
the energetic efforts and steadfast commitment of our auxilians
and volunteers and especially the support of the community-at-large.
I want to take this opportunity to praise the Auxiliary’s
on-going efforts and unwavering pledge to help raise funds in support
of the mission of WCA Hospital. Our work is never done, and we are
very pleased to announce a new 5-year pledge toward the purchase
of an anesthesia machine and infant ventilator.”
The auxiliary group enjoyed a video presentation during the luncheon
that highlighted the successes at WCA Hospital in 2005. According
to Betsy Wright, “We are a continuously moving, growing and
changing hospital, recognized nationally as a top 100 leader in
performance improvement and proud of the wonderful successes and
achievements we have accomplished over the past year. We are pleased
to serve the region as a strong medical facility that is responsive
to the current and future needs of those we serve.”
Each year, the Auxiliary selects special fund-raising projects
through a variety of events that serve to benefit the hospital and
community. In 2005, the Auxiliary sponsored, funded and initiated
programs which included, book, jewelry and candy sales, uniform,
