Jamestown, NY (October 4, 2016). Many infants go home every day without the basic items that they need. We are seeing this is a growing issue here in our community. The Kiwanis Club of Falconer and The Kiwanis Club of Jamestown, as a part of a state-wide Kiwanis project, kicked off their Warm Beginnings Project in support of the local WCA Hospital Maternity Department at their Spring Chicken BBQ in April. Many baby items and monetary donations were collected and delivered to the WCA Maternity Department. The club has continued to collect baby items and monetary donations over the past few months. They held an Open House Baby Shower at the Falconer American Legion Post in August where they welcomed the community to come and bring in donations and enjoy refreshments. On September 28th, members of both clubs made another delivery to the hospital. The club will continue to use the monetary donations to provide formula to the hospital as needed.

WCA Hospital knows that having a baby is one of the most important occasions in a lifetime. WCA’s OB/GYN board certified physicians, nurses and support staff help right from the start.

WCA Hospital offers: personalized education and tips for the whole family, bonding classes for siblings, fetal monitoring to help you and your family prepare for your new baby’s arrival, birthing rooms with reclining chairs, newly remodeled private rooms and baths—all new and all just for you.
When it’s time to deliver your baby, WCA offers a variety of options, including childbirth with minimal interventions and epidurals to ease pain during labor.
The Kiwanis Club would like to thank all of the individuals, businesses, and media for their support of this project to provide a little “Warmer Beginning” to babies born into our community.
