JAMESTOWN, NY (Tuesday, May 3, 2016)— Presenting sponsor, Jamestown Radiologists, and committee members organize the last-minute details for the 3rd Annual Vince Messina Memorial 4-person Scramble Golf Tournament on the beautiful surroundings of Conewango Valley Country Club in Warren, Pennsylvania, slated for Saturday, May 21. Tournament activities begin at 11:30 a.m. when the registration and driving range open.

To reinforce Vince’s love for the game of golf and to pay special tribute to him, friends and co-workers joined together to create the inaugural Vince Messina Memorial Golf Tournament. A son, a husband, a father, a grandfather, a mentor, a healthcare giver, a golfer and devoted to a life of helping others, Vince Messina left behind an irrevocable legacy of love, laughter and healing. The Vincent A. Messina Memorial Scholarship Fund, created in loving memory of Vince who passed away on July 18, 2013, preserves his benevolent legacy by providing scholarships to students enrolled in the WCA Hospital School of Radiologic Technology. Vince was very proud to distinguish himself as a graduate of the first class of the radiology school in 1969.

Retired from WCA Hospital in 2013 after spending more than 35 years of his career serving as a senior radiologic technologist in the Radiology Department, Vince’s friends, physicians, and co-workers alike say he took enormous pride and gratification in his job and caring for his patients.

“Our fun-filled day is a wonderful way to celebrate Vince’s life,” said Kathy Messina, wife of the late Vince Messina. “Vince was exceedingly passionate about helping people—especially those who needed a helping hand. He loved his family, work and without a doubt, the game of golf. This golf benefit is a fitting tribute to my late husband and I invite and encourage our community to come out for an enjoyable day of golf for a great cause.”
