Jamestown, New York (Thursday, January 3, 2008) - William Dragosavac of Jamestown was greeted by staff and fellow Cardiology Patients in the WCA Hospital Cardiac Rehabilitation Unit to celebrate his 100th birthday. Bill says he comes to Rehab twice a week and looks forward to every minute. “This gives me something to do and it keeps me in pretty good health,” Bill remarked. He credits the staff, his family and the friends he has made over the years as helping him to reach his 100th birthday.
“Bill has been a WCA Cardiology Rehabilitation Patient for over nine years,” stated Brenda Fitzgerald, WCA Cardiac Rehabilitation Registered Nurse. “He started Rehabilitation at the age of 91 after suffering a couple of heart attacks and has been faithfully attending ever since.” Bill has a regular routine that he follows on the various exercise equipment located in the unit. Bill says he enjoys most of the exercise equipment, but his favorite is the treadmill with the stationary bike taking a close second.
When Bill is not exercising in the Cardiac Rehabilitation Unit at WCA Hospital he is spending time visiting his wife who is a resident at Memory Garden. Bill exclaimed with pride, “You know this is my second birthday party; the staff at Memory Garden gave me a big party last Sunday. I am a lucky man to have so many wonderful people in my life.”
