New Admissions Requirements for 2008 Applicants
Jamestown, New York (Monday, December 3, 2007)—The WCA Hospital School of Radiologic Technology is accepting applications for its next class to start in August 2008. Applications are due no later than February 15, 2008 with final selections to be completed in mid-April.
The program includes classroom instruction and clinical hours in the hospital’s Radiology Department. At the completion of the program, graduates will be committed to a high standard of patient care. Students are eligible to take the American Registry of Radiologic Technology national certification examination and also become New York State Licensed Radiographers.
To apply to the School of Radiologic Technology, applicants must be a high school graduate or equivalent. According to Christina Slojkowski, WCA Hospital School of Radiologic Technology Program Director, new admissions requirements are required for acceptance into the program for the 2008 school year. Applicants must have successfully completed 15 credit hours of college level general education. Applicants must also have successfully completed pre-requisite courses in high school education or post-secondary education in English, Science and Math. Candidates must have received a final grade of 75% or better to be accepted as a minimum requirement. Opportunities for advancement are excellent following the required two-year education program. The graduate Radiographer can further his or her career through continuing education at Jamestown Community College and the University of Pittsburgh.
The hospital-based program is accredited by the Joint Review Committee on Education in Radiologic Technology and is recognized by the New York State Department of Health.
