Betsy T. Wright, WCA Hospital President/CEO
Jamestown, New York, Friday, November 30, 2007—WCA Hospital’s President and Chief Executive Office, Betsy T. Wright, was recently elected to the Healthcare Association of New York State’s (HANYS) Board of Trustees for a three-year term, effective January 1, 2008.
As a member of the Board of Trustees, Mrs. Wright will help direct the Association’s advocacy, public policy development and leadership activities in the ever-changing healthcare environment.
“Betsy is a welcome addition to the HANYS Board of Trustees,” said Daniel Sisto, HANYS President. “She has distinguished herself as a thoughtful and effective leader not only at WCA Hospital, but also in her work on HANYS Statewide Steering Committee on Quality Initiatives, as Chair of the Western New York Healthcare Association, and on the Regional Policy board of the American Hospital Association. Her depth of experience and her commitment to the provision of healthcare in our communities will serve us all well as we work to enhance the health of all New Yorkers.”

Wright’s experience in the healthcare field spans close to 30 years. A Diplomat of the American College of Healthcare Executives, Betsy received a Master of Business Administration degree with honors from the William E. Simon Graduate School of Business Administration of the University of Rochester, New York. She holds a Bachelor of Science degree from Hartwick College in Oneonta, New York.

In addition to President and Chief Executive Officer at WCA, Mrs. Wright serves as the President of STARLIGHT, Inc.; and President of W.C.A. Services Corporation, Inc.
Among Wright’s many leadership positions, she is past chair of the Southern Tier Healthcare System Board; Secretary of Chautauqua County Health Network Board; and Vice Chair of Voluntary Hospitals of America of Empire State. Active in the local community, she has chaired the American Heart Association Heart Walk and the American Cancer Society Relay for Life.
HANYS is the only statewide advocate for more than 550 non-profit and public hospitals, nursing homes, home care agencies, and other health care organizations throughout New York State. The HANYS volunteer Board of Trustees is responsible for managing the Association’s activities.
