WCA Sleep Center First In Area To Offer Pediatric Sleep Services

WCA Sleep Center

Getting a good night's sleep isn't a luxury - it's a necessity. Sleep problems can cause serious health issues - from heart disease and stroke, to daytime sleepiness, excessive fatigue, obesity and depression.

A local leader in setting the standard in sleep medicine excellence since opening its doors in 2004, the WCA Sleep Center has served over 2,500 people, helping them get a good night’s rest.

“We are very pleased to announce that we have recently expanded our services to now accommodate six patients undergoing sleep studies simultaneously,” said Rockland Milne, FACHE, RRT, RPSGT, Director of Respiratory and Neurology Care. “We are also the first sleep center in the area to provide pediatric sleep medicine services for young patients, five years of age and older.”

“We take pride in improving the quality of our patients' lives,” said Frank Arnal, M.D., FCCP, board certified in Pulmonology with sub-specialties in pulmonary and critical care medicine, and board eligible in sleep medicine. “Treatment of sleep disorders helps reduce a patient's risk for heart disease, stroke, high blood pressure, arrhythmias, and driving or work-related accidents. Everyone wants to wake up each day feeling rejuvenated and energetic. Our state-of-the-art sleep center provides patients with thorough, immediate treatment, helping improve their quality of life right away.”

A specialty sleep center that diagnoses, cares and treats even the most complicated sleep disorders, WCA is the only center in the region that treats complex sleep apnea.  “We are committed to minimizing the negative impact of obstructive sleep apnea,” says Dr. Arnal. “We treat these abnormalities in breathing during sleep with the most rapid diagnosis and care possible.

The entire staff of professional sleep technologists at WCA are board certified or eligible, and begin working with patients from the earliest phase of night-time diagnostic testing to help patients gain an understanding of sleep disorders including testing processes and treatment.

Scott, a 60-year-old local resident and grandfather of six, was determined not to let sleep apnea get the best of him. “Sleep apnea robs you of your life in ways that you don’t even realize,” exclaimed Scott a sleep center patient. “With CPAP therapy, I got my life back. I only wish I had done it sooner.”

The WCA Sleep Center team pride themselves on setting a high standard in delivering the best in sleep care:

Rapid Report Turn-Around Times - sleep study report results are sent to the physician's office within 2 business days following the sleep study.
