JAMESTOWN, NY (Thursday, January 4, 2018)—Two families Tuesday welcomed the first newborns delivered at UPMC Chautauqua WCA to bring in the New Year. Infants—baby girl, Lorelai Tritt; and baby boy, Jaxon McCray; were welcomed into the world on Tuesday, January 2, at precisely 4:58 p.m. (EST).

Weighing in at 8 lbs. 4 oz., little girl, Lorelai Tritt, arrived a week early. Mother, Carlie Bonfiglio, said her bundle of joy arrived sooner than expected as well. Weighing in at 7 lbs., 9 oz., baby boy, Jaxon, was born two weeks earlier than anticipated. “I began to experience some problems and the decision was made to deliver him sooner,” said Carlie. “Jaxon and I are feeling good and his big sister, Marley Rose McCray, cannot wait to see him. It is an exciting time for our family.”

Construction has begun on a multi-million-dollar construction project to build a Women’s and Maternity Care Center and Inpatient Adolescent and Adult Mental Health Units above the UPMC Chautauqua WCA Emergency Department. The 18,000 square-foot modern expansion will include a state-of-the-art maternity care center equipped with four labor and delivery suites and 12 post-partum suites. With more than 650 deliveries per year, parents find the charm of a community full of friendly faces and it is not uncommon for patients to know the people who touch their care.  Many of the highly-skilled and talented physicians, nursing staff, and support staff members have been provided care at UPMC Chautauqua WCA for many years and are sincerely committed to providing an environment that exemplifies a superior patient experience.
